חנוכה שמח,
· בע"ה ביום שישי הקרוב, ד' טבת 26/12 בשעה 9:00 בבוקר נשמע את הרצאתו של הרב ישראל רוזן על הנושא "האם יהודה המכבי המציא את היתר המלחמה בשבת?"
הרב רוזן, תושב אלון שבות, הוא ראש מכון צומת לענייני הלכה וטכנולוגיה. בעקבות רצח שלושת הנערים החטופים קרא הרב רוזן לספח את גוש עציון למדינת ישראל. הרב רוזן מלווה את הקמת שמורת עוז וגאו"ן מאז הקמתה.

· מאות הגיעו בשישי שעבר לעוז וגאו"ן לבוקר חנוכה שמח. ההיסטוריון אריה יצחקי ריתק את הקהל עם הרצאה מלומדת על קרבות המכבים בגוש עציון, מלווה בשקופיות. לאחר מכן נהנו כולם ממופע מדהים של קרני אלדד ולהקתה עם שירי ארץ ישראל הישנה. הילדים נהנו מהפעלות שונות כגון ליטוף חיות, בלונים וסדנת אמנות. ראו תמונות מצורפות מאת הצלם גרשון אלינסון
· במסגרת מצעד המבקרים בעוז וגאו"ן הגיע השבוע השר יובל שטייניץ לביקור. השר התפעל מהמקום . תמונה מצורפת

Friday at Oz VeGaon and updates
Happy Hanukah!
1) This coming Friday, the 4th of Tevet, December 26, at 9:00 in the morning, we will, please G-d, hear a lecture by Rabbi Israel Rosen on the subject of "Did Judah Maccabee Introduce the Dispensation to make War on the Sabbath?" . The lecture is in Hebrew with simultaneous translation to English.
Rabbi Rosen, a resident of Alon Shvut, is the head of the Zomet Institute for the Interface of Halakhah and Technology. Following the murder of the three abducted youths, Rabbi Rosen called for the annexation of Gush Etzion to the State of Israel. Rabbi Rosen has been involved with the establishment of the Oz veGaon Nature Preserve since its establishment.

2) Hundreds of people came to Oz veGaon last Friday for a joyful Hanuka morning. The historian Aryeh Yitzhaki enthralled the audience with his erudite lecture on the battles of the Maccabees in Gush Etzion, accompanied by slides. Afterwards everyone enjoyed an amazing performance by Karni Eldad and her group with songs of the old Land of Israel. The children enjoyed various activities such as petting the animals, balloons and a creative workshop. Please see the attached photographs by photographer Gershon Ellinson.
· 3) Minister Yuval Steinitz joined the great flow of visitors to Oz veGaon. The minister was amazed by the site. A photograph is attached of Minister Yuval Steinitz at Oz veGaon with Gush Etzion mayor Davidi Perl and deputy Mayor Moshe Saville.

· 6) We thank all of the contributors, by whose merit we are able to continue developing Oz veGaon. Thanks to your recent donations we were able to acquire 2 trailers, which serves the staff that guards the preserve, and another set of playground equipment for the children.
